How it is calculated
CGPA = Percentage ÷ divisor
This is the reverse of the CGPA-to-percentage conversion, so the same divisor caveat applies — check your institution's rule first.
Worked example
A score of 76% at the standard ÷ 9.5 gives a CGPA of exactly 8.0.
Questions people ask
Some universities or scholarship forms ask for a CGPA equivalent even when your marksheet only shows a percentage.
It should not for a valid percentage up to 100 at ÷9.5 or ÷10. If your result looks off, double-check the divisor your institution actually uses.
