How it is calculated
Per person = (total + tax + tip − extra item) ÷ people
The extra item is billed to one person and removed from the shared pool before dividing.
Worked example
A ₹3,600 bill with a 10% tip is ₹3,960. Split four ways that is ₹990 each.
Questions people ask
Even splits are simpler and usually fine when orders are similar. When one person had far more, bill their extras separately with the extra field.
Most people tip on the pre-tax total, but the difference is small enough that either is acceptable.
