How it is calculated
Above target: max misses = attended + remaining − required% × total classes. Below target: classes to attend = (required% × held − attended) ÷ (1 − required%).
Both formulas assume classes already missed cannot be made up, and that you attend every class you plan to going forward.
Worked example
68 attended out of 80 held is 85%. With 40 classes remaining in a 120-class term and a 75% requirement, you can still miss 18 more classes.
Questions people ask
Being above the requirement leaves a buffer — the calculator works out how much of that buffer you can spend before dropping to exactly the required percentage.
If attending every remaining class still will not reach your required percentage, the result will say so — at that point the shortfall needs to be resolved another way, such as an approved leave adjustment.
