How it is calculated
Pace per km = total time ÷ distance; Speed = distance ÷ total time
Pace per mile is pace per km × 1.60934, and mph is km/h ÷ 1.60934.
Worked example
5 km in 25:00 is a pace of 5:00 per km (8:03 per mile), an average speed of 12 km/h.
