How it is calculated
Days = (end − start) ÷ 86,400,000 milliseconds, with the end date added when inclusive counting is chosen.
Weekday and weekend totals are counted day by day, so the split is exact rather than estimated from a weekly average.
Worked example
From 1 August 2026 to 31 August 2026 is 30 days, or 31 counting both dates. Counted without the end date that span holds 20 weekdays and 10 weekend days.
Questions people ask
Include it when counting occupancy, leave or a stay — a hotel from the 1st to the 3rd is 2 nights but 3 days. Notice periods usually count both ends.
