How it is calculated
Walk the calendar from the start date: count whole years, then whole months, then the leftover days.
Calendar counting handles leap years and unequal month lengths, which fixed 30-day arithmetic gets wrong.
Worked example
From 1 January 2024 to 12 August 2026 is 2 years, 7 months and 11 days — a total of 954 days or about 136 weeks.
