How it is calculated
Score needed = (desired grade − current grade × (1 − exam weight)) ÷ exam weight
Assumes your current grade and the final exam are the only two components of the overall grade.
Worked example
A current grade of 72%, a final exam worth 30% of the total, and a target of 80% overall needs a 98.7% score on that exam.
Questions people ask
Your target grade is not reachable even with a perfect exam score — you would need a higher current grade or a smaller final exam weight.
